Overleaf Community Edition

Switching from Overleaf Premium

Your data: Overleaf downloads a project as a .zip of its source files (.tex, .bib, images). The zip doesn't include the typeset PDF, which you download separately.

1. On Overleaf, open the project, select File, then Download as source (.zip). You can also use the Download .zip button on the projects dashboard.
2. If you want the PDF too, use File → Download as PDF after it compiles.
3. On your Community Edition server, click New project in the project dashboard and choose Existing project (.zip).
4. Drag or select the .zip; if the upload works, the project opens in the editor.

Watch out for:

• These steps come from Overleaf's own docs for overleaf.com. Community Edition is the self-hosted version of the same editor, so menus may differ slightly.
• On overleaf.com, single files over 50 MB can't be uploaded and an upload takes up to 180 files.
